Under the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill, hemp-derived cannabinoids — including delta-9 THC — are federally legal so long as they are derived from hemp and contain no more than 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight. This legal definition does not include any federal age restrictions, meaning that the sale of compliant hemp-derived THC products to individuals under 21 is not explicitly prohibited by federal law. However, individual states may impose their own age limits or regulations.
